My heart says of you, “Seek his face!”
Your face, Lord, I will seek.
Psalm 27:8
O Lord, my God
The voices of unbelief crowd about me
I cry out to you
If you do not answer me, I perish
For whom have I in heaven but you
Apart from you I have no good
All else is futility and despair
I do not ask for deliverance
I do not seek salvation
I do not want reassurances
My desire is for you alone
Take me up into yourself
Consume me in your presence
And if not, slay me
For I am desolate with longing
My soul cries out in anguish
I starve for the living God
I have no appeal but this
That you are my only hope
If you do not come to me
I dismay
If you do not answer
I die.
